    What does /dev/mapper/isw_checegfhib_ARRAY mean?

    Hi,

I want to install Ubuntu on my Windows 7 (dual boot).
But when I open GParted, I don't get the expected
/dev/sda listing, but a list of /dev/mapper/isw_checegfhib_Array entries.

What does that mean? Can I install Ubuntu nevertheless?

    Thanks,
    Timon

I still don't know what the name means, but I now succeeded in
    installing Ubuntu nevertheless. I took

    /dev/mapper/isw_checegfhib_ARRAY0 to mean sda
    /dev/mapper/isw_checegfhib_ARRAY0p1 to mean sda1
    /dev/mapper/isw_checegfhib_ARRAY1 to mean sdb ect.

and ignored the rest. I don't know why but it worked.

    best,
    Timon
