Everything appears very small, windows, arrow, writings?

How do I correct this problem: everything appears extremely small: windows that opens, the use of an tiny arrow and the writings are minuscules?

Ctrl and + will make things bigger.

Ctrl and - will make things smaller.

Did try it without success. I am using Linux on Parallels.
