suspend to disc works only "half way through"

    Dear experts,

I want to use "suspend to disc" because I need my server to wake up rather quickly on LAN activity and via the HW timer. My configuration is an Asus Motherboard M2A-VM, the system disc is a Samsung SSD830, AHCI activated, with suse V12.2. If I use suspend to disc via KDE the system shuts down, the screen gets dark but the HW itself stays on (and continues to use as much power as before, I have a wattmeter so I know for sure).

The system cannot be activated by keyboard or other means only if I press the off button for a long time then it is really off. A normal shutdown works as it should. Any ideas what can be wrong ?

    BR
    George
