Question Linux Mint 13 on a usb pen drive

I am brand new to Linux and I honestly know nothing about it. I watched some videos on how to install it and run it from a flash drive though. My question to you guys (might be stupid lol) is: If I run it from the flash drive, will it delete all of my data saved onto my Windows XP OS???

No. Just booting from a flash drive will not affect XP unless purpusly delet files or click the install icon or something like that.
