    Web hosting question

I have a 4gb ram laptop. I setup a LAMP localhost server with a basic wordpress website. I want to know how to put the website online.

Can anyone give some quick advice or a link with a tutorial?

    Thanks

Are you sure you want to be hosting your website on a laptop...?

If you're really sure about this and your ISP will allow you, search for a tutorial for your router to enable port forwarding to the rest of the internet. Forward port 80 to the IP address of your laptop on the internal network.

Seriously speaking, I don't think running a website from a server based in a laptop will be cost effective. If it's just for learning purposes, fine. If it's for serious work, getting a shared hosting plan is cheaper in the long run. Is there any particular reason to run a server from your laptop?

Actually, I set up the server on my 8gb desktop.

And it is for learning purposes. Also the wordpress site is dedicated and I because my upload speed is slow and the I have a dynamic dns I may at the most only run two domains on the server.

    Hello,

if your using dynamic dns, you only need to Forward tcp port # 80 from your router to your PC IP address. and you also need to allow tcp port # 80 from your PC Firewall.
if your ISP didn't block port 80 it's will be work and you can access your website from out site.
but most of ISP they block port 80.

    thanks.
