    Much as I respect Torvalds on having started the Linux ball rolling, I do think that what happened in this particular case wasn't the best thing for him to do. First, there is no reason why Nvidia must kowtow to Linux. If they want to totally shut out Linux, then that's their prerogative. Maybe if they really do that, some enterprising hardware manufacturer will produce a Linux-friendly graphics card.

    nVidia has already responded. They sounded very polite but the bottom line is that they will not change their policy just because Torvalds is unhappy with them.
