    Google kills Picasa for Linux

Part of the house cleaning that Google is doing with killing projects, is to discontinue Picasa for Linux. I think it's both a shame and an annoyance. I quite like Picasa and I don't like seeing a company like Google walk away from the Linux community like this. It's funny that I was thinking just yesterday that they should open-source Picasa.

And just when I thought Google may be showing it is not going to be like MS! I guess Seattle is too close to Redmond (or vice-versa). Too bad . . .

Google's been erasing a lot of it's own creations and some of the stuff that it had bought. The fact that it's a giant firm and it's finances are capable to support buying more and creating unwanted stuff keeps it running.

Google earns from one place and destroys the one from where it doesn't. But the case here is it's probably just wanting to keep away from it's competitors since Chrome OS has yet to grow.

Google have decided to kill the Linux version of Picasa. Now you have to download Wine separately and install Picasa on your own. I think they did this because they also ran it on Wine. But it’s not a good thing to do this to Linux!
