Ubuntu 10.04 not working

Tried booting from disk it goes blank forever after loading.

Are you saying you installed Ubuntu on your hard disk and now when you boot, it goes blank?

Did you reformat the whole disk, add another disk, or install it on a partition?
Do you see any kind of multi-boot menu before it goes blank? Is any logo displayed?
What size is the disk or partition?
